On the Open Seas

We had a full day of sailing in front of us so we had plenty of time for a BIG breakfast (which just happens to be my favorite meal of the day). They turned me loose on the buffet, which was a very dangerous thing. For openers I had a bowl of cream of wheat with fresh blueberries, raisins and almonds, accompanied by a plate of fresh pineapple, honeydew and cantalope, and a glass of orange juice. And that was just the first course! Next, I moved on to scrambled eggs, a few choice pieces of crispy bacon, a waffle square and more juice. Round 3: heaps of lox on a toasted english muffin topped off with two cups of coffee. Now THAT's what I call breakfast! And somehow eating in this manner over the course of the cruise caused me to lose 1.4 pounds. Go figure!

There was plenty of sea to see throughout the day but as we made our way into Chatham Strait the views began to change. Dusk approached. We sat silently on our balcony as we gazed at the horizon's beauty. New views continued to unfold in front of us, each equally as breathtaking as the one before. Quiet, peaceful, crisp and clean. Ahhhh, breath in the sweet, fresh air.
